I have a particular interest in poetry. I love poetry tat effortlessly put feelings into words, good or bad, but also the poetry that explores the darker side of the human experience. In terms of prose, I have a love of creative non-fiction and memoir that takes the reader on a journey, whether that be physically or more emotionally and spiritually.

I'm a big fan of stories set in the real world. I have huge respect for authors who can find magic, worth, and depth in the regularities of every day life. Although I often have my head in the clouds, my taste in stories are definitely grounded on planet Earth.

My literary tastes vary, but in general I'm a lover of fiction with a dark edge and an aim to make me think. I believe gothicism and romanticism are two sides of the same coin and I love to see this explored. I'm also an avid supporter of autistic voices, northern voices and whatever Richard Gansey III has going on.

I enjoy a wide range of genres and I'm usually open to reading almost anything! I do have a particular love for fantasy, however, and especially urban fantasy as I enjoy seeing how the real world can in interact with the fantasy in even the smallest ways. More specifically, I love British folktales and seeing how those could be adapted into a modern setting.

I'm the biggest lover of stories in the genres of fantasy, dystopia, science fiction, and the in-betweens (add some romance and I'm sold!) But more than anything, I like characters with good backstories and profound psyches, and I'm a sucker for shocking plot twists. I also love learning about the world and its different cultures!

I'm particularly fond of uncanny, existentialist, atmospheric, and strange fiction. However, believe these themes can transcend across a wide range of literary genres which is something I'd love to see! I like stores make me both laugh and feel emotional, and juxtapositions with humour and horror/the absurd.

I like to read a wide range of genres but my favourite has to be gothic, as I'm fascinated by how these stories often reflect contemporary issues. At the moment, I'm loving subversive female authors who are redefining the horror genre, writing about topics such as female rage, maternal bodies and rampant sexuality. I'm also interested in romance, and feminist retellings of historical or mythological events.
